WHAT IS WABISTRAPS

From humble beginnings as a business selling at local markets, Wabistraps is now a full-fledged e-commerce store with a reputation for offering high quality watch straps at affordable prices. By curating a huge catalog of the most stylish, comfortable straps, there is definitely something for everyone. As a business owned by a watch enthusiast and run by family, we know what makes you tick and strive to provide a personalized customer service experience to make you feel like one of us.

HOW WABISTRAPS STARTED

The business started off as a hobby when our founder met someone selling a large bulk of leftover vintage watch straps from a now defunct German leather factory. Initially, he wanted to buy a few pieces for personal use but was eventually talked into buying the entire lot at wholesale price. With a strong entrepreneurial spirit and more straps than he needed, Jerome started selling to a few friends who were into watches and on Carousell, an e-marketplace in Singapore. The straps were met with huge demand and eventually sold out. Seeing an opportunity, our founder zeroed in on it and cobbled together an e-commerce website, bootstrapping and learning along the way. With the mindset of only selling products he would personally use, Jerome curated a catalog of quality watch straps that we are proud to offer today. Inspired by Japanese aesthetics of Wabi-Sabi (侘寂) which also reminds us of our humble beginnings, the company adopted the name “wabistraps”.
